Petite Fleur by fireflytwinkletoes Petite Fleur by fireflytwinkletoes
The first of my new commissions - a Fleur de Lis for :iconashurall:, who has been trying to get one for ages! I was asked to make a small plush, but in the style of an adult, so I compromised and made a 'teen-ish' Fleur. Her legs and neck aren't quite as long proportionally as adult Fleur, but she retains the adult face shape, eyes and hairstyle. She was a fun little challenge :)

Your plushies are so adorable and soft! I love them all! I'm going to make my first pony plush Derpy sometime this fall! About how long do you think an 18 inch Derpy plush would take? Please respond!

Good luck with your pony plush. I really can't say how long it will take you because that depends entirely on your sewing experience and how quickly you work.

Ok, thanks! I've hand sewed and machine sewed before, so I know how to do it. In your opinion, what is the hardest part of making the ponies?

Appliqueing the eyes and cutie marks evenly, consistently and neatly is probably the hardest part for me.

I don't have an embroidery machine, probably never going to get one. I'm just going to make the eyes and cutie mark of fabric. Another question, how do you make the manes and tails? Do you find a template online or do you make your own?

I don't have an embroidery machine either, and am never going to get one. You can do applique with any machine. Or even by hand, if you're really dedicated.

I make all the patterns for everything myself.
