Hi everyone!

TL;DR: I (probably) got a real grownup job so things will be changing.

So, big news. I've been living in Switzerland for a couple of years now and have unsuccessfully tried to find work in Science (I do have a Masters degree after all, it would be nice to use it even if I really do enjoy spending my time sewing). Then all of a sudden I was recently offered a job. I don't have the contract yet, so there's an outside chance that this will still fall through, but the employer seems very keen and I have attended several meetings about the project that I'm intended to work on. I've been asked to start the job officially on December 1st. Assuming this doesn't fall through at the last minute, I'm going to be working my first super serious 9am-6pm full time job. As you may imagine, this isn't going to leave a lot of time to continue plush making. It's going to mean huge changes in my life and lifestyle, and I'm honestly more terrified than I am excited. I genuinely don't know if this is the right job for me, but I feel like it's time to make a change and try something new, and see if I can manage and enjoy a real job in the scientific field. All this being said, after finishing this round of commissions, I don't intend to take full commission lists anymore. I don't want to completely stop sewing or plushmaking - it's an important and beloved part of my life - but I'm not going to have a lot of time for it. I think at best I'll take the occasional pony commission to keep my creative side happy.

Anyway, like I said, there's still a chance things will fall through, but I wanted y'all to know as soon as possible that things would probably be changing in a big way here at old Fireflytwinkletoes studios. Thanks to everyone for the amazing commission requests and all the wonderful support and community over the years. I feel like I'm saying goodbye right now, but I don't intend to reduce my presence here until I actually start the new job, and even then I'll be checking in and making the occasional plush.

Hi all!

I'm having a great time working on the current round of commissions - this is just a heads up for everyone that I will be away for a mini holiday for about a week starting today. You may have noticed that a number of projects are marked as 'complete' on my front page but have not been uploaded yet - these projects are indeed finished but I haven't yet found the time to photograph and upload them. I was hoping to do that before going on holiday but wasn't able to find the time. So look forward to lots of uploads when I get back!
